Safety should never depend on your gender, sexuality, age, relationship, background, disability, postcode or circumstances.
A simple belief with serious consequences
Safety From Violence Is A Right™ was created from a belief that should not be controversial: every person has the right to live free from violence, abuse, coercion and fear.
Yet too many people are still harmed in homes, relationships, families, institutions and communities. Too many are not believed. Too many encounter systems that respond to incidents while missing patterns. Too many are asked to explain their survival while the choices of the person using violence receive less scrutiny.
Every victim matters
Our work is inclusive of women, men, children and young people, and LGBTQIA+ people.
We recognise that women and girls experience particular patterns and disproportionate levels of some forms of violence. We also recognise male victims and survivors, including men and boys who experience domestic, family or sexual violence. LGBTQIA+ people may experience violence and coercive control alongside identity-based abuse, threats of outing, family rejection or barriers to inclusive support.
There is room for all of these truths. Acknowledging one person's experience does not require us to erase another's.

Safety From Violence Is A Right™ is not a crisis response, counselling, legal advice or case-management service. We do not investigate individual allegations or determine guilt. Where someone needs immediate or specialist support, we direct them to appropriate services.

Founder
Rose Davidson is a domestic and family violence and child sexual abuse advocate, Story Curator and founder of The Impactful Voice Project™. Her advocacy is informed by lived experience, years of interviewing people about difficult and complex experiences, and a commitment to making space for voices that are too often minimised or unheard.
Safety From Violence Is A Right™ is deliberately bigger than one person's story. Its focus is the right to safety, the realities of violence and the changes required to create safer communities.
